Robert Alter, Professor Emeritus of Hebrew and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Berkeley, completed a translation of the Hebrew Bible, The Challenge of Translating the Bible.  He will be discussing the challenges and rewards of the project on Tuesday, September 24, at 5:30 p.m. in 112 Chambers Building on campus.
